Sex and Drugs in Rock

Many rock songs focus on either sex or drugs, some both. Here are a few of my favorites.

5. White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane
This song is about tripping on mushrooms.

4. Feel Like Makin' Love by Bad Company
The title is pretty self explanatory. The song's title may seem like a guy in love, but it really is just a song about having sex.

3. Casey Jones by The Grateful Dead
Talks about a train conductor high on cocaine.

2. Cocaine by Eric Clapton
Again, the title is pretty self explanatory. A great Clapton song and arguably one of his most famous.

1. Comfortably Numb by Pink Floyd
This song is off of the album The Wall. The Wall is basically a story arch of a character named Pink, based on Roger Waters. Comfortably Numb is about this character going to a doctor to get drugs to stay awake for concerts and stuff like that. I have heard many things about the drug used but one I hear often is that it is heroine, mostly because of the line "just another pin prick." A great Pink Floyd song, arguably one of the best.

  1. You've picked some classics! Casey Jones has always been one of my favorites too. Good story on the Pink Floyd song.

Spelling: heroin (drug), not heroine (a female hero)

    9.5/10
